Novelist, journalist and feuilleton writer Tetiana Malarczuk was born in 1983. She grew up in Ivano-Frankivsk, but has been living in Vienna since 2011. Her novel Zabuttia [Oblivion] (2016) was selected as the BBC Ukrainian Book of the Year, and the writer herself was awarded a number of grants (e.g. from the Gaude Polonia programme or the Berlin-based Junge Akademie der Künste). She reports for Deutsche Welle and Die Zeit Online and has worked for the Ukrainian television.
