Olena Huseinova: The Daydreaming Superheroine

Poetess, performer and radio host Olena Huseinova was born in 1979 in Pomichna (Kirovohrad Oblast). Today, she lives in Kyiv and hosts original cultural programmes for Radio Ukraine. Her first poetry collection Open Rider was published in 2012; her 2016 book Superheroes received the Book Arsenal prize for best book design for poetry and prose. Huseinova’s work has been translated into Polish (Train No. 7, The Accent) and Czech, and in 2012, she received the Vasyl Symonenko Literary Prize for poetry.
