Giorgi Arabuli: Searching for Oneself, Searching for God

Giorgi Arabuli was born in 1991. He graduated from The Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University, Faculty of Theatre Direction. He has an original poetic voice, seemingly characteristic to his homeland, the mountainous Khevsureti, but creates new dimensions of artistic and literary topics.

In 2012, the Intelekti publishing house released his debut poetry collection Stepping on the Road, which was prefaced by poet Diana Anfimiadi. ‘A young folly, the love of one’s homeland and region,’ she writes, ‘Small ethnographic notes, very modern poetry in its best sense, looking for his own self and God.’

In 2013, Arabuli became the lead director at Dusheti theatre. In 2016, he received the Tsinandali Prize in poetry.
